About the Book

This text applies bioenergetics to aquatic animals and explores its role in aquaculture and fisheries science. The initial chapters deal with the general principles of bioenergetics which could be applied to any organism. The author then concentrates on aquatic animals so that comparisons can be made between species subjected to the same living conditions. The book aims to provide a study of this topic by examining methods of studying bioenergetics, analyzing the results and evaluating applications of bioenergetics for both individual organisms and whole populations.
