This set presents emerging ideas about the relationship between the mind, feelings and the body, a subject which is now of crucial importance in many forms of therapy. Titles explore the nature of pain, love and hate, behaviour, conditioning, instinct and forms of perception. Two titles, Body and Mature Behaviour (1949) and Development of the Sexual Impulses (1932) provide an interesting insight into contemporary theories of sexual behaviour and functioning. Other titles, such as The Neural Basis of Thought (1934), look at early neurological theories, examining nervous functioning and the brain as well as the nature of adaptation and learning and stimulus and response.
