Feminist criminology grew out of the Women’s Movement of the 1970s in response to the neglect of women by, and the male dominance of, mainstream criminology. This important volume traces the development of feminist criminology and assesses its impact on the discipline. Claire M. Renzetti is Professor in the Department of Sociology, Anthropology and Social Work at the University of Dayton, USA. She is the editor of the international, interdisciplinary journal, Violence Against Women; co-editor of the Sage Violence Against Women book series; and editor of the Gender, Crime, and Law book series for Northeastern University Press/University Press of New England.
