The Europa Politics of ... Series has been created to offer students, academics and libraries an authoritative and timely collection of titles that take topical global issues and examine how politics impact on them and are in turn impacted by them. For example, you will learn how and why the illegal drug trade in Mexico has become such a massive political minefield, and why the Niger delta has generated huge wealth from oil, and yet has suffered terrible violence as a result.
Each volume in the series is a collection of specially-commissioned essays from leading academics, policy makers and business people, building on historical data and case studies to give a well-rounded perspective on very complex issues. For example, in The Politics of Water: A Survey, Jeroen Warner, Assistant Professor in the Disaster Studies Group at Wageningen University in the Netherlands, assesses how water and mining have become hot political issues in South Africa.
