Welcome
Welcome to the CW Showcase website. This page contains an overview, intended to introduce and guide you through the Companion Website process. The rest of the site is split into three main sections; Preparation, Features and Examples.
The Companion Website Process
In order for your textbook and Companion Website to have the most impact, we recommend launching them both at the same time. Here is a schedule for Editorial to follow, based upon the textbook launch date:

-
Six months — This is the time to Request a CW (or eResource). You should have already decided which Features are relevant to your CW. You can take a look at our Examples page and ask the author to start writing web content (templates and guidelines are available on this site). Check that the correct website URL is included on the book cover and the relevant costs are allocated in GT (don't forget to add Production costs).
As the content comes in, check it over (making sure the templates are filled out correctly) and familiarise yourself with arranging content, writing sitemaps and handover memos at What to Submit.
-
Three months — Submit content to the Web Team via the Portal record, allowing extra time for content related queries.
-
Launch date — The Web Team will provide you with an internal URL to preview the website. The content will have been copyedited so this should not need checking. Test any interactive features, check that the site structure is correct (no content appearing in the wrong section) and that it is easy for students and instructors to use. When you give your approval the site will go live. If you would like to send the URL to the author/s to check, this is the time to do it. They have two weeks to submit any reasonable changes, in one batch. After this, any further changes can be made three months after the launch. Please see Updates on how to proceed with this.
Below is a detailed timeline of the CW process. It is split into three categories to show the workflow between the web, production and editorial teams.
