        <p>
	David Crystal has been a freelance writer, lecturer and broadcaster since 1984. Based in Holyhead, Crystal is Honorary Professor at Bangor University, UK. In 1995 he received an OBE for services to the English language, and was made a Fellow of the British Academy (FBA) in 2000.</p>
<p>
	He is author of numerous books, including David Crystal&#39;s <a href="http://www.routledge.com/books/details/9780415602679/"><em>Introduction to Language</em></a> (2011), <em><a href="http://www.routledge.com/books/details/9780415602716/">Internet Linguistics</a></em> (2011), <em><a href="http://www.routledge.com/books/details/9780415485746/">Just a Phrase I&rsquo;m Going Through: My Life in Language</a></em> (2009) and <em><a href="http://www.routledge.com/books/details/9780415484909/">The Future of Language DVD</a></em> (2009), all Routledge.</p>
