Scene from the noh play, Sagi (The Heron) at the Kanze Noh Theatre, Tokyo,1962. In this dance-drama, a heron obeys the command of the Emperor and allows himself to be captured by an aide. The impressed Emperor appoints the heron and the aide to high court rank. The play ends with the heron (at center stage here) doing a celebratory dance. Musicians at the right accompany him.
