Weblinks - Grammar
The best site for the description of English grammar is undoubtedly the Internet Grammar of English on the University College London website: www.ucl.ac.uk/internet-grammar/home.htm It can be used both as a course in English grammar and as a reference grammar. It includes a set of online exercises.
A straightforward explanation and illustration of grammatical terms is given in the Grammar Handbook, which is part of the Writers' Workshop website of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign: www.english.uiuc.edu/cws/wworkshop/grammarmenu.htm
If you want to have a sentence automatically analysed ('parsed'), then you can submit it to the online Constraint Grammar Parser of English, which will provide a 'word class' label for each item in your sentence: www.lingsoft.fi/cgi-pub/engcg
