About the Authors

Adrian Holliday is a Reader in Applied Linguistics and Head of The Graduate School at Canterbury Christ Church University College, UK. He is author of Appropriate Methodology and Social Context, Cambridge, Doing and Writing Qualitative Research, Sage, and The Struggle to Teach English as an International Language, Oxford.

John Kullman is Senior Lecturer in Language Studies at Canterbury Christ Church University College, U.K. He teaches on a number of programmes which focus on culture and communication as well as on English language teacher education programmes in the U.K. and overseas. His interests include social constructionism, social representations theory, discourse, and identity and representation in educational contexts.

Martin Hyde is Principal Lecturer in Language Studies at Canterbury Christ Church University College. He is currently Deputy Director of the International Office at the University College. He has teaching secondary school teaching experience working in Morocco and the Dominican Republic. He is a keen linguist, speaking Spanish and French and basic Moroccan Arabic. His academic interest is in discourse analysis.
