About the Authors

Basil Hatim is Professor of Translation and Linguistics at Heriot Watt University, UK and Professor of English and Translation at the American University of Sharjah, UAE. He is author of Communication Across Cultures: Translation Theory and Contrastive Text Linguistics (University of Exeter Press, 2000).

Jeremy Munday is deputy director of the Centre for Translation Studies, University of Surrey, UK. His main teaching and academic interests are translation theory, corpus-based translation studies, discourse analysis and Spanish-English translation. He is author of Introducing Translation Studies (Routledge, 2001).
