Lecturers' Guide

The Editors of "Revealing the Corporation" have compiled eight sets of power-point lecture slides which they hope will be of use to teachers who will be using their book as a course-text.

It is the editors' hope that these slides will be of assistance in the development of courses on the area whether at executive, postgraduate, or undergraduate level. The editors envision that the slides have a number of possible purposes:

  • as stand-alone lecture slides
  • as a route-map for course leaders who may wish to alter/develop their own set of slides
  • as a supplementary/revision tool for students which can be used to supplement other teaching materials provided

The topicality of the area, and the number of identity, branding, reputation, communication and corporate-level issues that regularly feature in the news means that lectures can (and in our opinion should) be accompanied by "real-life" material in the form of videos and/or news materials. (Teachers will wish to ensure that they do not infringe any copyright laws in this regard).

  • Each set of slides corresponds to one of the sections or chapters of the book.
  • Each begins with a list of objectives and concludes with a summary.
  • Each has a "model of the moment". Here we have identified an important/salient model that we think is worthy or particular scrutiny. Sometimes, an entire lecture can be devoted to an examination of the model.

For those courses requiring group or tutorial work teachers might wish to use some of the questions which appear at the end of the Editors' introduction to every section.

The slides have been prepared using "American" rather than "British" English. NB: the slides shown here serve only as a guide. It is our intention to revise these slides as the occasion arises. We very much hope that this additional material will be of assistance to our colleagues.
