About the Author

Pat Broadhead is Research Professor for Early Years and Primary Education at the University of Northumbria. She has been researching children's sociability and cooperation for many years, first becoming interested for her dissertation for her first degree - completed part-time after she had qualified as a teacher. Although the research has focussed on Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 classrooms, she would like to continue the work into Key Stage 2 in the near future.

She also has an edited publication: 'Researching the Early Years Continuum' (1996) published within the BERA Dialogues series by Multilingual Matters.
