About the Authors

Marilyn A. Stone
B.Sc. (Econ.) (Cardiff UC), Ph.D. (Heriot-Watt), M.Litt. (Heriot-Watt), Diploma Chartered Institute of Marketing

Senior lecturer at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh specialising in international marketing and logistics. Research concentrates on European expansion within the UK-based logistics service providers industry: publications include Literati club European Business Review outstanding paper 1996 (MCB University Press) for ‘Strategic development related to Europeanization of UK logistics and distribution services suppliers’.

She has been senior academic partner in five Teaching Company Schemes concentrating on strategic marketing and operations management in third-party logistics provision, timber importing and processing and kitchen furniture manufacture. She has worked in industrial marketing and marketing research within domestic and international markets with major firms including Philips and Delta Metal.


J.B. McCall

Ian McCall consults in cross-border business management, having previously been a government official marketing tropical products, a marketing and sales manager in the sugar engineering business and a lecturer in international management. He has conducted training programmes in international business and negotiation in Argentina, Finland, France, Sweden and the UK. He has published numerous books and articles on these topics.
