Ordinal numbers
In this unit you met ordinal numbers first,
second, third... Here is some practice. Kings, popes, etc. are
numbered, as in English, using ordinal numbers. Here are some
well-known figures from history and the recent past. We will
tell you the Italian name and leave you to fill in the number
in letters.
(N.B. Italian does not include the word for 'the'. Charles the
third is Carlo terzo)
It is not about a real king but about a man who thought he
was Enrico IV.
If incorrect: Refer to the list of ordinal
numbers in your course book. Don’t forget they agree with the
noun, so when the noun is feminine (a queen for instance) the
ordinal number is feminine too.
