Doctor doctor

You have flu. Here's what the doctor says. Put the verbs into the correct form of the present subjunctive.

Vocabulary notes:
dì = giorno = day.  Often used when stating the frequency of the dosage of medicines.  You will however hear:  Buon dì = buon giorno.

 

1. Occorre che Lei (riposarsi);

 

2. (prendere) queste compresse tre volte al dì;

 

3. (bere) molto - acqua;

 

4. tè, (rimanere) a casa per due o tre giorni;

 

5. e (tornare) a farsi controllare dopo cinque o sei giorni.

 

6. Now, imagine that instead of starting with Occore che Lei…. the doctor just gave you orders. What would be the form of the verbs in that case? i.e. using the polite imperative.

(riposarsi)

 

7. ________ queste compresse tre volte al dì;

(prendere)

 

8. ________ molto – acqua, tè.

(bere)

 

9. ________ a casa per due o tre giorni

(rimanere)

 

10. e ________ a vedermi dopo cinque o sei giorni.        

(tornare)

 

11. Things would change if this was advice given by your mother.  She would use the 'tu' form.  What would it be?

(riposarsi)

 

12. ________ queste compresse tre volte al dì;

(prendere)

 

13. ________ molto - acqua, tè.

(bere)


14. ________ a casa per due o tre giorni

(rimanere)


 

15. ________ a vedere il medico dopo 5 o 6 giorni.

16. And finally, how would she tell you "don't go out if it's raining."?
