Guess
the verb
You learnt about the formation of past participles in Unit 8
but were warned that many, especially in the second group of
verbs, with an infinitive ending in -ere, are irregular. However,
they are not difficult to guess and this exercise asks you to
do just that.
Verb
practice
Practise the passato prossimo by replacing the infinitive.
Gerunds
Practise the gerund, which you met in this unit, by forming
it from the infinitive.
More
false friends
You were introduced to 'false friends' in Unit 5. More recently
you have met other words which some students find misleading
since they are similar to English words but differ in meaning.
