Originally selected by the editor of The Review of Reviews, a monthly magazine published since 1889 in the UK and US, which carried the summery of news and reports collected from the periodicals over the world, the cartoons appeared in various sections of the magazine and its appendices. However, even in the back issue collections held at UK or US libraries, those sections were often lost and are rarely available completely.
