    Biography

    Maneesh Bhatia, MBBS, MS (Orth), PG Dip (Tr & Orth), FRCS (Tr & Orth), is a Consultant Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Surgeon at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust, Leicester, UK.

    He did his Orthopaedics training in South East Thames and then went on to do a Fellowship in Foot & Ankle Surgery at Cambridge. He was awarded the European Foot & Ankle Fellow of the year and travelling Fellowship to the United States in 2009 giving him the chance to work at centres of excellence in foot and ankle surgery in United States.

    He has written two successful books – An Orthopaedics Guide for Today’s GP and Musculoskeletal Injections and Alternative Options. In addition, he has written many chapters in books and has published widely in a number of peer-reviewed journals.

    He has an active interest in education and research. He is a senior FRCS (Trauma & Orth) examiner for the Joint Committee on Intercollegiate Examinations (JCIE). He has acted in the role of specialist advisor to NICE regarding non-surgical treatment of Achilles ruptures. He is a member of the advisory panel of the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR). His other current roles include member of the Scientific Committee of European Foot Ankle Society (EFAS) and the Education Secretary of British Indian Orthopaedic Society (BIOS). He has served as scientific committee member for the British Orthopaedic Foot Ankle Society (BOFAS).
