    Biography

    Dr. Saravanan Krishnan is working as a senior assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Anna University, Regional Campus, Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu. He has received an M.E in software engineering and PhD in computer science engineering. His research interest include cloud computing, software engineering, Internet of Things, and smart cities. He has published papers in 14 international conferences and 27 international journals. He has also written 14 book chapters and edited eight books with international publishers. He has done many consultancies works for municipal corporations and smart city schemes. He is an active researcher and academician. He is a member of ISTE, IEI, ISCA, ACM, etc.

    He has also trained and interviewed the engineering college students for placement training and counseling. He has conducted many ISTE workshops in association with IIT Bombay and IIT Kharagpur. He is also coordinator for IIRS (Indian Institute of Remote Sensing) outreach programme. He has delivered more than 50 guest lecturers in many seminar/conference in reputed engineering colleges.

    Dr. M. Murugappan has been working at Kuwait College of Science and Technology (KCST), Kuwait as a full professor in electronics, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, since 2016. He also serves as a visiting professor at the School of Engineering at Vels Institute of Science, Technology, and Advanced Studies in India. He is also an international visiting fellow at the Center of Excellence in Unmanned Aerial Systems at UniversitiMalaysia Perlis inMalaysia. In 2006, he graduated from Anna University, India with an ME degree in applied electronics. He received his PhD from Universiti Malaysia Perlis, Malaysia in 2010 for his contribution to the field of mechatronic engineering. Between 2010 and 2016, he worked as a senior lecturer at the School of Mechatronics Engineering, Universiti Malaysia Perlis, Malaysia. In this role, he taught a variety of courses related to biomedical and mechatronics engineering. For his excellent publications and research products, he has been a recipient of several research awards, medals, and certificates. In a study by Stanford University, he was recently ranked among the top 2 percent of scientists working in experimental psychology and artificial intelligence for three consecutive years (2020–2022). His research into affective computing has received more than 750K in grants from Malaysia, Kuwait, and the UK. His publications include more than 140 peer‐reviewed conference proceedings papers, journal articles, and book chapters. Several of his journal articles have been recognized as best papers, best papers of the fiscal year, etc. Professor Murugappan is a member of the editorial boards of PLOS ONE, Human Centric Information Sciences, Journal of Medical Imaging and Health Informatics, and International Journal of Cognitive Informatics. In addition to being the Chair of the IEEE Kuwait Section’s Educational Activities Committee, he is an active reviewer for IEEE Transactions on Multimedia, IEEE Transactions on Affective Computing, IEEE Transactions on Health Informatics, and IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Signal Processing. He is interested in affective computing, affective neuroscience, the Internet of Things (IoT), the Internet of vii Medical Things, cognitive neuroscience, brain–computer interface, neuromarketing, neuroeconomics, medical image processing, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. Throughout his career, he had a strong collaborative relationship with leading researchers in the fields of biosignal/image processing, artificial intelligence, the IoT, and cognitive neuroscience. He is a member of several international professional societies including IEEE, IET, IACSIT, IAENG, and IEI.
