    Biography

    With over 35 years of consulting experience in the industrial engineering field, Kjell B. Zandin was an owner and director of H. B. Maynard and Company, Inc., Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (now part of Accenture) for more than 20 of those years.

    A native of Gothenburg, Sweden, Mr. Zandin joined Maynard Sweden in 1964. In the late 1960s he developed an exciting new concept of work measurement, MOST Systems. Mr. Zandin relocated to the United States in 1975 to introduce MOST to U.S. industry and subsequently authored the book MOST Work Measurement Systems.

    In 1986, Mr. Zandin was the recipient of the first ‘Technical Innovation in Industrial Engineering Award’ presented by the Institute of Industrial Engineers for his ‘significant innovative contributions to the industrial engineering profession.’ In 1990, Mr. Zandin received the ‘Royal Charter Award’ from the Institution of Production Engineers in Great Britain.

    Mr. Zandin served on the Visiting Committee for the Industrial Engineering Department at the University of Pittsburgh for many years and on the Board of Directors of the Pittsburgh Chapter of the Institute of Industrial Engineers from 1995 to 2001.

    Mr. Zandin was a Senior Member and Fellow of the Institute of Industrial Engineers and a Fellow of the World Academy of Productivity Science.

    Mr. Zandin held an MSc degree in mechanical engineering from Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden supplemented by education in Business Administration at the Institute of Business Management in Stockholm, Sweden.

    Mr. Zandin was also the Editor-in-Chief of the 5th Edition of Maynard’s Industrial Engineering Handbook published by McGraw-Hill, New York, N.Y.

     

    As a Service Management Manager with Accenture, Therese M. Schmidt’s experience includes more than 10 years in human resource management. She began as a human resources consultant with a Pittsburgh-based trade association and later became a MOST Certification expert with H. B. Maynard and Company (now part of Accenture), providing training and support for hundreds of organizations across all industries for the past 25 years.

    Therese was the editor of the third edition of the MOST Work Measurements Systems book and is a certified Master Instructor in the BasicMOST, MiniMOST and MaxiMOST Systems. Ms. Schmidt has delivered MOST Certification training for clients in many industries including retail, distribution and manufacturing in both the lecture and online formats in addition to developing and delivering workforce optimization training, team skills and leadership training. Ms. Schmidt has been an integral part of the training development team acting as a subject matter expert for the MOST Certification programs through the Accenture Workforce Optimization Academy and has worked with Accenture partners across the globe to continue to expand MOST worldwide.

    Ms. Schmidt holds a BS degree in business administration with a focus on human resources and accounting from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and is also a certified trainer in the Skills for an Empowered Workforce Program through Development Dimensions International.
