Dr. Basuchaudhuri obtained a M Sc (Ag) degree in 1972 from Calcutta University being first in first class and awarded one Gold and one Silver medals, and a Ph D degree from the same in 1977. He joined the faculty of Calcutta University in 1975 as Plant Physiologist and worked there till 1984. In 1980 I was awarded PremchandRoychand Scholarship on the merit of my work submitted as a short thesis. He became a Senior Scientist in Indian Council of Agricultural Research later. He has 4 books to his credit and published 60 papers in national and international journals. He has 40 years of teaching and research experiences.
