Polymer Concretes: Advanced Construction Materials provides a comprehensive study on polymer concrete (PC), discussing historical perspectives of its use, the classification and applications of PC, and the advantages and disadvantages of its use. Materials such as resin, aggregates, micro fillers, fibers, and nanofillers are systematically summarized, as well as their effects on PC. Also examined are the properties, fabrication methods, and the standards for testing the material properties, as well as the future outlook for PC applications. This book:

    • Investigates the various properties of PC
    • Covers the physical, mechanical, thermal, chemical, electrical, and environmental properties of PC
    • Examines fabrication methods, standards for testing, and the future outlook for various applications

The book is ideal for students taking related courses in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, and Material Engineering. It also serves as a useful guide for researchers in the areas of concrete and construction materials, composites and nanocomposites, and advanced materials, as well as professionals working in fields such as construction, precast concrete products manufacture, transportation and road construction, architecture, and more.

    Biography

Mostafa Hassani Niaki received a Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering from Semnan University, Semnan, Iran, in 2017. Currently, he is a research associate at University of Mazandaran. His Ph.D. research focused on the field of reinforced polymer concrete. His fields of interest include polymer concrete, experimental mechanics, composites and nanocomposites. His current focus is on implementing deep learning-based methods in polymer concretes. He has authored several scientific articles and one national patent in polymer concrete.

Morteza Ghorbanzadeh Ahangari received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from University of Mazandaran in 2005 and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Semnan University in 2013. In 2014 he joined the faculty member of the University of Mazandaran and is now associated Professor of Mechanical Engineering. He has been researching polymer composites and concretes since 2008 and has published more than 100 ISI papers in these fields. In 2021, he was introduced as a list of highly cited researchers. He has also been selected as a top researcher three times. He spent two years as the director of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and two years as the Vice Chancellor for Research and Technology of the Faculty of Engineering in University of Mazandaran.
