The requirements of the National Curriculum, and the shift of funding away from local education authorities mean that primary schools are increasingly responsible for their own in-service provision.
This set of three resource packs covering the core subjects of the National Curriculum will help teachers charged with the task of curriculum leader to plan coherent and effective professional development for their colleagues. They assume no specialist knowledge and can be used flexibly according to the needs of individual schools. Each unit includes:
* Leader's guidelines - a summary of aims of the unit
* Briefing paper - notes on background to the issues covered * Stimulus activities - for group use in an introductory session
* Classroom activities
* Review session - activities and discussion points to summaries what has been learnt and pinpoint future action.
The three packs are divided into self-contained photocopiable materials to cut preparation time to a minimum.
