About the Editors

Neelesh Kumar Jain is Professor in Mechanical Engineering and Coordinator, Center of Excellence in Gear Engineering at IIT Indore. His research interests are: additive manufacturing of metallic materials, advanced machining processes, high-quality gear finishing, miniature and non-circular gear manufacturing, sustainable gear machining, micro-joining of thin sheets, and modeling and optimization of manufacturing processes. He has authored 5 books, 13 book chapters, 85 research papers, and 31 conference papers as on 31 Oct. 2019. He has guided 9 PhD theses and 25 MTech theses. He has served as first Dean of Academic Affairs during Oct 2010 to May 2019 and as Acting Director for more than 18 months on several occasions during 2010 to 2019.

Kapil Gupta is working as Associate Professor in the Dept. of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Technology at the University of Johannesburg. He obtained Ph.D. in mechanical engineering with specialization in Advanced Manufacturing. Advanced machining processes, sustainable manufacturing, green machining, precision engineering and gear technology are the areas of his interest. He has authored several international articles, and also authored and edited international books on hybrid machining, gear manufacturing, micro and precision manufacturing, high speed machining, and sustainable manufacturing.
