The history of public relations (PR) has received limited attention over the years. Publications on the topic have been few and far between, while researchers and practitioners struggle to classify historical themes in PR. This series addresses that issue directly with the publication of eight separate books, each focusing on one of the most popular historical themes of PR as presented at the International History of Public Relations Conference (IHPRC). The project will make a major contribution to the history and historiography of PR, creating new knowledge and providing fresh perspectives to understanding the discipline. It will be the first to bring forward these different, sometimes alternative and culturally diverse, histories of public relations in a single format.
