Solar activity, solar and stellar winds, accretion, turbulent regions in cosmic plasmas, particle acceleration, and the formation of high-energy nonthermal components (cosmic rays), are processes characteristic of cosmic plasmas that involve fast energy transformations and nonstationary conditions. They all are generated, however, by the same physical mechanisms for the storage, release, and propagation of energy. It is the relation between such mechanisms and their macroscopic manifestation that Russian scientists address, in a manner suitable to graduate students and scientists in cosmic electrodynamics.
