John C Bird is an author and playwright who has lived and worked in the United States, Canada, Cyprus and the United Kingdom. His published and broadcast work includes two novels (one award winning), short fiction, a poetry collection, five plays, television comedy material, and non-fiction books on subjects as diverse asBritain's treatment of enemy aliens in wartime and new careers for the over-40s.

Biography

Bird worked for several years as a journalist in the UK and Canada, then in public relations with companieswith  such as British Oxygen, Canadian National Railways, the First National Bank of San Jose, California, the UK Atomic Energy Authority, and the UK Government Information Service, mainly with the Ministry of Defence and Home Office. He taught communication studies as a senior lecturer at what is now Birmingham City University.
