Biography
Bird worked for several years as a journalist in the UK and Canada, then in public relations with companieswith such as British Oxygen, Canadian National Railways, the First National Bank of San Jose, California, the UK Atomic Energy Authority, and the UK Government Information Service, mainly with the Ministry of Defence and Home Office. He taught communication studies as a senior lecturer at what is now Birmingham City University.Education
