I am currently a Lecturer in Philosophy at Royal Holloway, University of London, and a Visiting Research Fellow at King's College London, where I also work on the Ancient Commentators on Aristotle project. Before that I was a Lecturer in Philosophy at a number of universities in the UK, most recently Birkbeck, University of London. I am also a member of Wolfson College, Oxford, where I was once a Junior Research Fellow.
Areas of Research / Professional Expertise
I have wide interests in the history of philosophy. I have worked mainly on ancient Stoicism and the reception of Stoicism since antiquity. As well as two books on Stoicism I have written articles or chapters on Zeno of Citium, Seneca, Epictetus, Marcus Aurelius, Pietro Pomponazzi, Justus Lipsius, Ralph Cudworth, and Shaftesbury.
