A pioneer in Kansei Engineering (KE), a successful product design technology, in Malaysia. Entrusted with the knowledge by the founder of the technology, Professor Mitsuo Nagamachi, by collaboration in research, co-author of books and research articles, as well as sharing medium of knowledge transfer in workshops and tutorials locally and internationally. Established Malaysia Association of KE (MAKE) and appointed as the first president. A Coordinator of Research Intensive Group for KE.


Dr. Anitawati Mohd Lokman holds the title of Associate Professor in the Centre of Information Technology Studies, and Coordinator of the Research Intensive Group for Kansei / Affective Engineering in Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia. She is also the Founder and President of Malaysia Association of Kansei Engineering (MAKE). She received the Bachelor of Engineering in Information Engineering from University of Fukui, Japan in 1994, and Master degree in Information Technology from Universiti Teknologi MARA in 2001. In 2009, she completed her PhD degree under the supervision of the founder of Kansei Engineering, Professor Mitsuo Nagamachi, and a pioneer of HCI in Malaysia, Professor Nor Laila Md Noor. In the field of Kansei Engineering, she has co-authored and published 4 books with Professor Nagamachi, and co-authored journal and conference papers with both of her gurus, Professor Nagamachi and Professor Nor Laila. She has also been giving keynotes, workshops, and tutorials on Kansei Engineering in international conferences and seminars. Her research interests include Kansei Engineering, Human Machine Interface, Social Computing and robotics.
