I began my career as a classroom special education teacher.  I then became a County-level Supervisor/Consultant for special education programming in seven school districts.  I completed a doctoral program leading to a Ph.D. in Special Education.  I continue to be a faculty member at the college level with a focus on preparation in Special Education.  I have taught numerous classes which have had a focus on students with disabilities.  Some of my research has focused on the role of school counselors in special education and how preservice training may provide a better basis for their work with students with disabilities.  I have also been involved with other research investigations, grants, service activities, and numerous professional publications and conference presentations.
