Herb Parker is Associate Professor in the Department of Theatre and Dance with East Tennessee State University. His books from Routledge Focal Press include “ACTING SHAKESPEARE IS OUTRAGEOUS! Playing the Bard for Beginners,” and“ A MONOLOGUE IS AN OUTRAGEOUS SITUATION! How to Survive the 60-Second Audition. He is a six-time recipient of KCACTF’s “Excellence in Directing” Meritorious Achievement Award, and he is a long time member of Actor’s Equity Association.

Herb Parker is Associate Professor in the Department of Communication and Performance with East Tennessee State University. He is the author of the forthcoming book “A Monologue is an Outrageous Situation! How to Survive the 60-Second Audition,” published by Focal Press. Some of his directing credits at ETSU include RACE, THE TROJAN WOMEN, CAESAR 2012, (his adaptation of JULIUS CAESAR), CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF, AS YOU LIKE IT, and HAMLET. His productions of SIX CHARACTERS IN SEARCH OF AN AUTHOR, A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM and LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS all received the KCACTF “Excellence in Directing” Meritorious Achievement Award. Professor Parker is a proud 35-year member of Actors’ Equity Association.
