Ka-Chun received his PhD degree from Department of Computer Science at University of Toronto. He is the first associate editor outside USA and Germany for the open-access journal, BioData Mining, from 2016. In addition, he is on the editorial board of Applied Soft Computing from 2016.

Biography

Ka-Chun joined the Department of Computer Science at City University of Hong Kong as a faculty directly after PhD graduation in 2015. Previously, he received his B.Eng. in Computer Engineering from United College, the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2008. He has also obtained his M.Phil. degree in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the same university in 2010. From 2011 to 2014, he has spent 3.5 years (2012-13 departmental average: 6 years with master degree) to finish a PhD degree in Department of Computer Science proudly under the supervision of Professor ZHANG ZhaoLei (Donnelly Centre for Cellular and Biomolecular Research) at University of Toronto . He is the first associate editor outside USA and Germany for the open-access journal, BioData Mining, from 2016. In addition, he is on the editorial board of Applied Soft Computing from 2016. With exposures to different (academic, industrial, spiritual ,and social) aspects, he hopes to strike a balance and contribute to the society by leading the Big Data Analytics Group for Genome Informatics.
