Geoffrey Poitras

Professor of Finance
Simon Fraser University

Professor Poitras, has a PhD (Economics) from Columbia University. After four-years as a securities analyst and Government of Canada auction manager with the Bank of Canada in Ottawa, he joined Simon Fraser University in 1989. His research interests focus on financial history, security analysis, derivative securities, risk management, and history of financial economics. In addition to numerous publications in leading academic journals, he has published 10 books on a range of financial topics.
