BiographyDr. Neri Karra, an entrepreneurship and strategy specialist with a wealth of professional, academic and administrative experience, is currently Associate Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship at IESEG School of Management in Paris, France. Neri was formerly a Research Fellow at London School of Economics and Political Sciences, a Lecturer at University of the Arts London, a Programme Director at Imperial College London and Royal College of Art, where she was tasked with the role of creating a centre that bridges creativity and business. She worked extensively with hundreds of businesses, startups, and non-governmental organizations with the emphasis on innovation, creativity, and design based competitive advantage, and sustainability. In 2009, she was appointed as the founding academic director of Regent’s University’s MA Programme in Luxury Brand Management, a role that consisted of designing, developing and successfully launching of the programme.
Her academic research on entrepreneurship, family business and strategy has been published extensively in top-tier academic journals, such as Academy of Management Proceedings, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Strategic Organization, Journal of Business Venturing, Long Range Planning, and Organizational Research Methods. Her thesis was also a finalist at the Academy of Management for the William H Newman Award for Best Paper Thesis.
In addition to her academic career, Neri founded her entrepreneurial venture in luxury leather goods products, which grew to a born global venture that exports to Russia, South Africa, Europe, Middle East and Central Asia, with 27 stores in 14 different countries. Over the last decade, she has been awarded an array of accolades and awards from organisations like DSD Foreign Trade that recognises her as one of the largest exporters in Turkey.
Neri received her doctorate degree from University of Cambridge, her master’s from Sabanci University in Istanbul, Turkey, and her undergraduate degree from University of Miami, all in Business Management.
