FEATURED AUTHOR
Bryan Hopkins
I work as an independent training consultant, specialising in helping humanitarian and development organisations to design and develop effective learning solutions. This includes identifying appropriate learning strategies, designing, developing and sometimes delivering formal learning solutions and looking for ways to strengthen informal learning. Apart from work, I enjoy walking and cycling in the beautiful northern England countryside.
Biography
After graduating with a first degree in Mechanical Engineering I spent five years working in several African countries teaching engineering and related subjects, and also gained a Master’s degree in Development Studies.Subsequently I spent some time teaching in the United Kingdom and then moved into industrial training, first designing computer-based training and then developing my expertise in wider aspects of training consultancy.
Over the last 30 years I have worked with many different organisations, both in the private and public sectors, helping to develop and evaluate effective training solutions. In recent years I have been working towards a part-time Master’s degree in Systems Thinking, and have been integrating systems tools into the work that I do.
