Marita Husso
Senior lecturer at the Department of Social Sciences and Philosophy at the University of Jyvaskyla, Finland, and Adjunct professor of social policy at the University of Eastern Finland. Ph.D. from the University of Jyväskylä in 2003. She has worked as a researcher and lecturer in social and public policy, social work and gender studies, and a postdoctoral researcher and senior researcher for the Academy of Finland.

Research interests include violence studies, welfare service work, social suffering, vulnerability, theories of embodiment, sociology of food, organizational practices, gendered agency, feminist theory, affects and sociology of emotions.
Recent publications consider e.g. gendered welfare service work, interpersonal violence and encountering violence in social and health care institutions.
