Fuchang Liu
Fuchang Liu has been an educator for more than three decades, first as an English teacher in China and then as a math teacher in the United States – in this latter role he was named Teacher of the Year in 2002 (he has always been more of a numbers person!). Currently he is associate professor of math education at Wichita State University, working with pre- and in-service elementary teachers on a daily basis.

Biography
Fuchang Liu was born in China and grew up during a series of political upheavals including the riotous decade of Mao's "Cultural Revolution." He became one of the lucky few to be admitted to college in 1977 when higher education was resumed after Mao's death. He went on to graduate school, earned his master's degree from Jilin University, and taught at Yantai Teachers College for six years. He came to the United States in 1993 to work toward his doctorate at the University of Louisiana Monroe. He taught high school for eight years in Louisiana before he moved to Wichita, Kansas. Currently he is associate professor of math education at Wichita State University.Education
