Dr. Moini was born in a city called Kashan, in Iran, where the famous Persian carpets are manufactured. His father was a manufacturer of these carpets. When the author was a child, until age 15, he was amazed by the quality of these carpets, and wanted to follow in his father's footsteps. However, his father encouraged him throughout childhood to become a doctor. Despite his feelings, he listened to his father and pursued medicine. Eventually, he became a medical doctor. After graduating from Tulane University, he returned to Iran. The revolution was taking place. Over 9 years, teaching medical school in Iran and establishing a private practice, he spent most of his time helping patients and educating students. Eventually, he brought his family to the United States to establish a new life.
