Manu Bazzano


I'm a psychotherapist and supervisor, visiting lecturer at Roehampton University, London and other colleges in the UK and abroad. I'm editor of Person-Centered and Experiential Psychotherapy and associate editor for Self & Societ - International Journal of Humanistic Psychology. I studied Eastern contemplative practices since 1980 and in 2004 was ordained a Zen monk in the Soto and Rinzai traditions.

Biography

My background is philosophy, rock music and Buddhism. I got a BA from the University of Calabria in 1980 with a thesis called inspired by Nietzsche, Pasolini, The Doors, The Velvet Underground and Bataille. I then traveled extensively and lived for several years in India, Germany and the US before finding my home in London. Here I spent a few years playing in bands and recording a few albums, teaching philosophy in adult education, organizing Zen retreats and then retraining as a psychotherapist.
