Dr Alex Opoku currently a Senior Lecturer in Project & Financial Management at the UCL Bartlett School of Construction & Project Management, University College London. He is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and Chartered Construction Manager with over six years of teaching and learning experience in the UK Higher Education with speciality in Project & financial Management in the construction industry and over seven years of UK construction industry experience working as a Quantity Surveyor.
He holds a PhD in Construction & Project Management from the University of Salford and pursued a Postdoctoral Research at the Centre for Sustainable Development of the Department of Engineering-University of Cambridge, before joining London South Bank University. He has experience in teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and actively involved in Teaching and Learning, Research and Knowledge Transfer, as well as Administration, Management and Leadership roles
Areas of Research / Professional Expertise
Alex’s area of research interest is in the area of Sustainable Built Environment having published in various high impact academic journals, including a book on “Leadership and Sustainability in the Built Environment” published by the Taylor and Francis (Routledge) in 2015.
