Kaufui Vincent Wong
KAUFUI VINCENT WONG has been a Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, University of Miami, FL, U.S.A. for over 33 years, and continues to serve his students. He is very active in the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), and is the current Chair of the ASME Committee on Honors. He is also a Deputy Group Leader of the ASME Technical Communities Board.
Biography
KAU-FUI VINCENT WONG is Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, University of Miami, Coral Gables, Florida. He grew up in Malaysia, and came to the U.S.A. in 1973. As a youngster, he wished to be an engineer because of his passion for mathematics. He accomplished the first part of his wish when he obtained the bachelor degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in 1973. He realized the second part of his wish when he defended his dissertation for the Ph.D. at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio, U.S.A., in 1976, the bicentennial year. The third part of his wish was to teach young men and women from all over the world to become engineers. This part became true when he became a faculty member at the University of Miami, Coral Gables, Florida, U.S.A., in 1979. He started having the fourth part of his wish come true when in the year 2000, he published his first book for students studying to be engineers. In 2003, he published his second textbook written for graduate engineers. At the end of the same year, he published his third textbook, the first edition of “Thermodynamics for Engineers II”. He has authored and co-authored over 170 technical papers. His mass media teachings are well received.Education
