Biography
Dru Johnson is the co-founder and chair of the Hebrew Bible and Philosophy program unit in the Society of Biblical Literature and Associate Professor of Biblical and Theological studies at The King’s College in New York City. Johnson currently holds a Templeton research fellowship in analytic and exegetical theology at the Logos Institute (University of St Andrews, 2017–18). He was a Senior Templeton Research Fellow for the Institute for Advanced Studies—Shalem Center in Jerusalem (2012–13).Johnson has published books on the relation of philosophy to the biblical literature: Epistemology and Biblical Theology: From the Pentateuch to Mark’s Gospel (Routledge, 2017); Knowledge by Ritual: A Biblical Prolegomenon to Sacramental Theology (Eisenbrauns, 2016); Biblical Knowing: A Scriptural Epistemology of Error (Cascade, 2013), and its companion book for non-specialists, Scripture’s Knowing: A Companion to Biblical Epistemology (Cascade, 2015).
