Dr. Lisa Van Well is a Senior Researcher at the Swedish Geotechnical Institute (SGI) working in an inter-disciplinary context with the task to help bridge the gap between geotechnical science and climate change adaptation governance. She has previously been a Senior Research Fellow at Nordregio (Nordic Centre for Spatial Development) and has been involved in research and teaching activities at KTH, Royal Institute of Technology, Division of Urban and Rural Studies.

Biography

Lisa has experience in policy relevant research, evaluations, workshop organization and project management/leadership in both transnational and inter-disciplinary settings.  In her previous employment at KTH and Nordregio her research involvement included projects for FP7, the European Observation Network for Territorial Development and Cohesion (ESPON) and the European Commission within the areas of territorial cooperation, sustainable regional development and EU Cohesion Policy. At SGI Lisa works on national and international research projects focusing on ways to integrate local and epistemic territorial knowledge in climate adaptation measures and sustainable building and planning to ensure the societal relevance of technical knowledge-creation.
