Adriana has over ten years of international research experience resulting in a growing list of publications. These include the books R&D Investment and Impact in the Global Construction Industry and Delivering Value with BIM: A Whole-of-life Approach. She also teaches at UNSW and UTS on topics related to sustainable, resilient and smart cities. Adriana’s current interests centre on increasing urban resilience and leveraging information across organisational and system boundaries.

Biography

Adriana has carried out research across four continents resulting in a number of applied outcomes as well as academic and industry publications. Her current interests centre on increasing urban resilience and leveraging information across organisational and system boundaries. Her research activities focus on how to translate policies into tangible outcomes and research into practice. Her most recent experience has been in sustainable infrastructure, developing national strategies for the adoption of new technologies and how to maximise and monitor benefits from the implementation of these technologies.

Originally from Venezuela, Adriana was awarded an MSc. in Sustainable Resource Management with honours from the Technische Universität München (TUM) in 2011. She has been working at the Sustainable Built Environment National Research Centre (SBEnrc) since January 2012 and is a PhD candidate at the CRC for Low Carbon Living based at the University of New South Wales. Here her research focuses on the development and evaluation of public policies that aim to increase urban resilience over the long term. She is currently a commission coordinator of the CIB Task Group 90 Information Integration in Construction (IICON).
