Vincentius Surya Kurnia Adi

Vincentius Surya Kurnia Adi is an assistant professor in the Chemical Engineering Department, National Chung Hsing University. His research centers on developing new insights in process synthesis and design, especially in flexibility analysis of chemical processes. He also established Process Systems Engineering (PSE) Lab on August 1, 2016. PSE Lab's research programs are mostly on the analysis, modeling, simulation, optimization, design, control, and operation of process systems.


Currently, I am appointed as an Assistant Professor in Department of Chemical Engineering, National Chung Hsing University. I supervise Process Systems Engineering (PSE) lab which conducts research on analysis, modeling, simulation, optimization, design, control, and operation of process systems. I worked as a Research Associate in Centre for Process Systems Engineering, Department of Chemical Engineering, Imperial College London with Dr. Benoit Chachuat and Prof. Andrew Livingston for ISOREF project with Shell Global Solutions as the project partner. Experimental and simulation work was used to design a membrane cascade for isothermal refining of crude oil by organic solvent nanofiltration. I also worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher in Process System Engineering Laboratory, Department of Chemical Engineering, National Cheng Kung University and work together with Prof. Chuei-Tin Chang to develop new insights in process synthesis and design, process safety assessment, fault detection and diagnosis, batch operations, and supply chain management fields. I have learned about process safety, risk assessment, process technology, project management, economic analysis, optimization, scheduling, and others related to activity in material conversion. I also learned a lot from my extra-curricular activities to get along with people around us, organizing, managing, motivating, and encouraging people to accomplish the given tasks. Handling a group of people to achieve one purpose together was a great experience for me.
I am interested in interaction with other people. I also like to be trained and eager to be challenged. I am also equipped with hardworking, honesty, and integrity as my ground, driven by self-motivation and discipline for achieving excellencies, and supported with strong knowledge in engineering science and have good leadership skill. I believe and confident to give valuable contribution and cooperation with any potential organization or company.
