Leyla Tavernaro-Haidarian, PhD is a media professional and communication specialist. Her research focuses on the normative moral theory of Ubuntu and its implications for media, public discourse, education and governance. She is a GES postdoctoral research fellow and a member of the South African Communication Association.

Biography

Leyla Tavernaro-Haidarian, PhD is a media professional and communication specialist. She has produced and presented for a variety of media outlets, including Warner Brothers/KTLA5, the Austrian and South African Broadcasting Corporations, HBO and the Africa Channel USA. She is also a published writer and academic with a particular interest in the normative moral theory of Ubuntu and its implications for communication, education and governance. She has written and piloted a collaborative reality television program and rolled out an educational curriculum, both of which involve relational communication strategies and inform her approach as a consultant in these fields. Leyla has received awards and acclaim for her contributions and regularly coaches, teaches and speaks at international fora such as TEDx, The US State Department, The Unique Speaker Bureau and Ethical Business Building the Future. She is a GES postdoctoral research fellow as well as a member of the South African Communication Association and the Golden Key International Honor Society.
