BiographyDr. Thomas Hartmann is Associate Professor at the Land Use Planning Group of Wageningen University & Research, the Netherlands.
In addition to his position at Wageningen University & Research, Thomas Hartmann is also affiliated with Jan Evangelista Purkyne University (UJEP) in Usti nad Labem (Czech Republic), where he is employed at the Faculty of Social and Economic Studies and he is a lecturer for in the MSc programme “Disaster Management and Prevention” at the University of Bonn, Germany. During winter semester 2015/2016 and 2017/2018, Thomas Hartmann was appointed guest professor at the Department of Geography and Regional Research of the University of Vienna (Austria). He taught in the MSc Geography & Regional Planning two seminars, one on land policy and scarce resources, and one on justice in the city.
Thomas Hartmann is a trained engineer of spatial planning (Dipl.-Ing), which he studied Spatial Planning at TU Dortmund University and the University of Kaiserslautern, Germany and he holds a policy science PhD from TU Dortmund University.
