Anders Engberg-Pedersen

Anders Engberg-Pedersen is Associate Professor of Comparative Literature and Vice Chair of the Department for the Study of Culture at the University of Southern Denmark. He holds a PhD in Comparative Literature from Harvard University and a Dr. phil in Neuere Deutsche Literatur from Humboldt Universität. He works on 18th – 21th-century literature (German, French, Russian, Scandinavian), war, aesthetics, cartography, the history and poetics of knowledge, media archaeology,


I have also written Empire of Chance: The Napoleonic Wars and the Disorder of Things (Harvard University Press, 2015) and edited the volume Literature and Cartography: Theories, Histories, Genres (MIT Press, 2017).
