Roy Frank Ellen
Roy Ellen is a social anthropologist by training, with interests in human ecology, the environment and ethnobiological knowledge. He has conducted fieldwork in Indonesia since 1970, amongst Nuaulu people of Seram, but also on inter-island trade in the Moluccas, and for short periods elsewhere. Based at the University of Kent, where he founded the Centre for Biocultural Diversity, he was elected to the British Academy in 2003 and was President of the Royal Anthropological Institute, 2007-11.
