Dr. Geeta Kochhar is an Assistant Professor in the Centre for Chinese and South East Asian Studies at the Jawaharlal Nehru University. Dr. Kochhar was trained in Chinese language, and is a fluent speaker of Mandarin. She received her PhD from School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University. She was awarded the Asia Fellowship to undertake nine-month research at Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Awarded “India-China Bilateral Cultural Exchange Scholarship” (Sept 1995-July 1997) by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India for advance studies in China. She was a visiting Professor in The Institute of Indian and South West Asian Studies, Vietnam; Visiting Scholar at FDDI, Fudan University, China; a visiting Professor in Sao Paulo University, Brazil; and a Visiting Professor in IIT Shillong, India. She has edited volumes on India-China-Nepal Relations, Nepal’s Foreign Policy; China’s Foreign Policy and Security Dimensions; and authored a book on 1000 powerful Chinese Lexicon, presented many papers in National and International Conferences on China, published numerous papers in International Journals, and has a list of articles.
