Biography
Dr. Geeta Kochhar is an Assistant Professor in the Centre for Chinese and South East Asian Studies at the Jawaharlal Nehru University. Dr. Kochhar was trained in Chinese language, and is a fluent speaker of Mandarin. She received her PhD from School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University. She was awarded the Asia Fellowship to undertake nine-month research at Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Awarded “India-China Bilateral Cultural Exchange Scholarship” (Sept 1995-July 1997) by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India for advance studies in China. She was a visiting Professor in The Institute of Indian and South West Asian Studies, Vietnam; Visiting Scholar at FDDI, Fudan University, China; a visiting Professor in Sao Paulo University, Brazil; and a Visiting Professor in IIT Shillong, India. She has edited volumes on India-China-Nepal Relations, Nepal’s Foreign Policy; China’s Foreign Policy and Security Dimensions; and authored a book on 1000 powerful Chinese Lexicon, presented many papers in National and International Conferences on China, published numerous papers in International Journals, and has a list of articles.Education
